BEWARE OF THE EXAM
WHAP kids can be a bit melodramatic. The AP test is long -- 3+ hours -- and tiring. However, it is very doable! The multiple choice part consists of 70 questions for which you have 55 minutes to complete (you will get done in plenty of time). The questions just assess your knowledge of content and making relationships with the content. There is a 10-minute break following the multiple choice portion of the test. Afterwards, you will begin the essays. There are three essays (one of each type of essay in AP world history, all of which Mr. Brock will cover during the year) and 2 hours to complete them (plus a 10-minute reading/planning period). This may be more difficult to finish. Tip: throughout the year, Mr. Brock will assign many practice essays. DO them. The more practice you have, the more prepared you'll be for the exam!
